The meeting between NGIC and ITU

Nizami Ganjavi International Center Members Boris Tadić, President of Serbia (2004-2012); Walter Fust, Director-General of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (1993-2008); and Secretary-General Rovshan Muradov, along with Senior Advisor Rza Aliyev, held a meeting with International Telecommunication Union Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin. The discussion with the International Telecommunication Union focused on the importance of digital transformation, with 1/3 of the world still not connected to the internet. The risk of internet fragmentation was highlighted, and the need for a Global Digital Compact on internet governance, challenges related to climate issues, the upcoming COP29, and the XXX High-Level Meeting in New York were also discussed.
