“THE CHANGING WORLD ORDER & ITS IMPLICATIONS FOR MULTILATERALISM & ITS STAKEHOLDERS”

Regional Session 2: The Future of Eurasia:

Looking at Eurasia, we must recognize the importance of Eastern Europe and the Balkans and beyond all the way to the Caucasus and Central Asia. The protracted conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan continues to take lives, threatens peace and well-being in the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Black Sea region, and undermines the peace and security of Europe as a whole.
Security for Europe requires addressing the challenges of the situation in Ukraine, the new and aggressive role of Russia, and developing a vision of how the shifting realities in that part of the world can be directed towards peace and stability.
The complexities of the situation in Eurasia underline that a special session should be devoted to this important area of the world.
